Management Accounts & Business Reporting

Regular financial reporting that helps business owners understand performance, cash flow and the financial position of their business throughout the year.

Service overview

Management accounts are regular financial reports prepared during the year rather than at the end of it. They are designed to help business owners understand how the business is performing, how cash is moving and where the financial position stands, at a point in time when decisions can still be made.

At Accountant Bookkeeping Ltd, we prepare management accounts and business reporting for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies throughout Bournemouth, Dorset, London and across the UK. Reporting can be provided monthly or quarterly, depending on the level of detail that is useful to you.

Statutory accounts look backwards at a completed accounting period. Management accounts are prepared with a different purpose: to support day-to-day decision-making, monitoring of performance against expectations and planning for the months ahead. The figures are based on the records and information available at the time and may include estimates, and they are not a substitute for the statutory accounts of the business.

Reporting is prepared using the information held in your accounting records and is tailored to the areas that matter most to your business, whether that is margin, cost control, cash flow or reporting to directors and other stakeholders.

As an AAT Licensed Accountant, we provide management accounts and business reporting with transparent fixed-fee pricing and no VAT charged on our fees.

Why management accounts matter

Accounts prepared after the year end confirm what has already happened. Management accounts are prepared during the year so that you can see how the business is performing while there is still time to act on what the figures show.

Regular reporting can help you monitor cash flow, understand where profit is being generated, identify costs that have moved unexpectedly and assess performance against expectations or budget. It can also provide useful supporting information when speaking with lenders, investors or other professional advisers.

For many business owners, the main benefit is clarity: knowing the financial position of the business at a given point in the year, in a format that is straightforward to understand, rather than relying on a bank balance alone.
